One way to develop a healthy perspective on God's commandments is by understanding the contrast between the peace that comes from following God's path and the turmoil that Satan brings forth under the new moral system. God has indicated His paths through the love of neighbor, and this understanding of God can help us to extend kindness to others as we would want to be treated. Everyone desires complete redemption from their transgressions and the ability to find that they are free to fail. This is why the gifts that God has given us are so much more important than our salaries. God doesn't ask us to prove His sovereignty through our strength. His focus is on granting us peace and strength so that we can endure what He has determined for us. We don't need to look to the right or the left. Because we are all crippled in some ways, God must work on this principle. He can only allow us to move forward when He provides us with the enabling. All of our strength for going on is provided through His divine, sovereign power in the grace that is the basis and foundation for our confidence. We are walking down this path that is a place where we are shielded from the world, flesh, and the Devil. Our sight is on our commander who walks before us and keeps us from going in the anxious way or the way of friction and trials. God must keep us from temptation, sin, weakness, and trouble by making our path straight and flat to walk on. He can only do this by overlooking our sins when we fall or forgetting our sin by removing them from us and He must grant us illuminations to be what we are not. So that He causes us to dwell on His word and He strengthens us through His Spirit. This is why we look like an incomplete work of art because Christ makes our picture complete by going before us.
