No matter what we do, we will always be questioned and talked about by others. This is simply part of engaging in the arena of life. Sometimes the scrutiny can be intense, but we cannot let our beliefs be dictated by how society treats us. We need to stand up for what we believe in, even if it means being rejected by others. Christ tells us to be as wise as serpents and as harmless as doves, but a lot of people misinterpret this as being passive aggressive. However, we need to be gentle and kind in our interactions with others, even as we stand firm in our beliefs. Why would you think that your individual actions are so important in determining how life's events will play out if you truly believe that you are a child of the all-powerful Father? This question challenges the idea that we have control over our destiny, and instead suggests that our belief in the divine should give us a sense of peace and acceptance. The psalmist goes on to say that snakes are dangerous because they strike when their prey is vulnerable, and compares this to how evil rulers often take advantage of those who are weaker. In conclusion, the author suggests that this is a mocking of godless powers. Although some people may think they can act in a dominating or aggressive manner towards others without facing any consequences, they should be aware that God is always watching and will not tolerate such behavior. God's wrath can flare up at any moment, and He has said that those who defy Him will be punished. It is important to remember that we have direct access to our powerful and fearsome God. This is why He says "Vengeance is mine I will repay." There is a certain satisfaction that comes from righteous indignation if it is channeled properly. Not at others, but with the knowledge that God will not fail.Jesus tells a story of a widow who had a lot of debt and was constantly being pestered by creditors. But every day, she would go to the door of the judge and knock. And eventually the judge got so tired of her knocking that he said, "If you leave me alone, I'll give you what you want." I believe this story is a very crude way of illustrating that God our Father is always listening to our prayers. This story is our encouragement to engage God in our troubles, knowing that He is always listening. Now I see this happen frequently when I am reading about events. People begin to have trouble and they eventually reach a point where they feel isolated from society. The answer that is often given is that they tell someone their troubles. In other words, we have made society into a kind of focus group where everyone takes their private issues and gets healing by making them public. But in this verse, God is the only one who can really do something about it. Oh, there is relief in having friends but they usually fail us in the end. But God will never fail us. He hears the cries of His people and He will never turn away from those who ask.
