It is difficult to maintain a positive outlook and not compare oneself to others, especially when the task at hand seems insurmountable. However, it is important to remember that everyone has potential for greatness, and that no one is better than anyone else. When we try to micromanage our desires and either suppress them or allow them to run wild, we open ourselves up to a kind of sorrow that comes from a hidden sense of pride. We need to be careful not to judge others too harshly, because we may not be aware of all the reasons why they have chosen to do something. Instead, we should try to find the pleasure and forgiveness in that thing. This will help us avoid more serious sins.If God is able to keep us from sin, then that is the working principle that can help us relax in the new self we are brought to. A place of Him giving us new hope and putting a new song in our heart is one where we have a new step in our walk and we are looking at something far greater of the new reality that we could produce in ourselves. This is a gift from God to saints, in that we are able to find pleasure and satisfaction in many different things. Often, we are only aware of where we came from (in terms of our sinful nature) and not where we can find true joy and happiness (in God).Although we may be led to receive things that will eventually cause us pain and suffering if we do not keep our eyes on Christ, we are still aware that this life has the potential to be better than we could ever imagine or hope for, in terms of the gifts we receive. However, because of this, we are also more susceptible to finding deep sorrows on the other side. But this is the way of grace—we are not immune to the potential for pain and suffering, but we are also blessed with the potential for great joy.
