Christ is the light because He is above all other beings on the earth. His brilliance shines down on all of creation, and this is how we can see and understand people best. We long to be close to Him and experience His glory, even though we are fully prevented from doing so. In this way, our longing to be close to Christ and experience His glory is the best way to understand and observe people. Christ desires to have a relationship with us, even though we are often prevented from reaching Him. This is why we long to be on the hill of the Lord, where He dwells. In life, there will be times when we face difficult challenges or obstacles. However, when we are in a battle, we have a much better perspective, because everything is happening quickly and we are focused on the fight. Our daily prayer should be that we are always enabled to see the light of God's glory all the days of our lives, but sometimes we face darkness. We should remember that even in difficult times, God is always with us and is always working for our good. There are several reasons why God might increase our faith by giving us the sense that we are alone in the world. First, He has a reliable way to endure the assaults of the enemy. When we are rejected by others, God promises to be the only one who accepts us. This is an ongoing theme in the Psalms. Secondly, as we focus on seeking God and developing a single goal to pursue Him, we eventually come to the same place as the apostle did. He acknowledged that there was only one faithful servant in Timothy. The apostle was always faced with the challenge of having to make difficult choices between two competing desires. This is why, when faced with difficult circumstances, he would admonish himself for not trusting that God would always be available to prove Himself strong. In contrast, the Psalmist confesses that God is always most concerned for us when we are most rejected. God is always willing to help us when we are in a difficult situation. The rejection that occurs in the Bible is not always bad. Sometimes it can be a trial, but it is also a time when we need protection from God. The point of Christ being our light is to always be our last resort, and when we experience opposition we can feel abandoned. However, this is when we are most driven to find safety and acceptance in God's presence. He grows us by pushing us to a crossroads, and when we face difficult challenges we can move on. There is no other place to go, and our desire to seek Him is what drives us forward. We can sense the desires of our enemies, but the guidance and light of Christ always provide us with the best possible solution. This is especially true when we are faced with difficult situations, as we learn from our mistakes and gain spiritual ground. In fact, learning from our mistakes is an effective way of becoming wiser in the challenges of this world.
