63 1 O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you;" The Psalmist seeks earnestly after God, and God expresses Himself to the Psalmist in a very personal way. We also seek God earnestly, and hope to experience His presence in the same way.God spoke us into existence in order to display His law, covenants, curses, decrees, statutes and promises in a holistic union of body and soul. By confessing, appealing and crying out to God using expressions that He Himself has inspired, we please Him.How can an infinite God relate to a finite creature? How can the Psalmist say "my infinite God" and be a personal God to a finite creature? This Psalm is teaching us that in encountering a God who is both personal and mysterious, we should be satisfied with the mystery of God."my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water."Meeting God is like King Kong's strength in clasping his hand around us; if he were to do that, he would crush us to death. The Psalmist uses the desert hopelessly in need of water to stay alive to express his own inability to encounter God without God's ability. You ever tried to find water in the desert after a few days? You would hopelessly in danger of a slow death. He is teaching if God does not answer his needs he will die.God teaches us by inspiration to express our inability in an honest cry for help. Like Christ asked the disciples after teaching self denial if they wanted to continue. They responded we have no where else to go. We are completely dependent on God.The Psalmist is teaching his confessions of total inability frees us to accept Gods divine mystery. We learn to rest in divine mystery. We must have mystery or we will die. We must be pursed with such power that we are in awe of God. We need God to chase us with power.2" I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory." God will bless your pursuit through word and Spirit. The reason we never find God in worship because God will only give us what we put in Only the saints who love the mystery of God will find deep worship. You can live a life with little comfort and very little fellowship. If you have experienced worship with revival your life will never be the same. You will always point to that high experience in your life. Most people never understand corporate revival. It takes selling out.God blesses seeking Him through meditation on His word night and day. The Psalmist teaches us expressions of complete dependence. Because God will pant like a deer through you. God will not bless lazy saints. You must seek God like the woman who pestered the judge to get what she wanted. When you seek Him with the Psalms, it is like wrestling for years to get the fine experiences. You press and hold and press and hold. Day and night. You will find God.Like Greer in an officer and gentlemen. The Sargent tells Geer I want you DOR. Geer says no no no. Finally after the Sargent presses him to sign the DOR Geer cries "I ain't got no where to go!" The next morning Geer had brand new belt buckle he was stealing. God is like that.A man who worships God spends years wrestling with God to prove that God is good by answered prayer. You grab the horns of the Psalms and hold on for years. You will not stop pronouncing. It controls you.We must dwell on the word night and day in order to be filled with the power of God.3 "Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you." He is teaching that the pronouncements lead to mystery, and that it is resting in God's unfailing love that is most important. Without the supernatural revelation, we are all very depraved and carnal.3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you."The law, covenants, decrees, and statutes of God are all based on the unfailing love of God. This love ensures that God's will is always satisfied, and that authority and control are found in God's love, rather than in our own lives.Gods love is founded on knowledge. You cannot be loved by God and not understand God. You must know the importance of the covenants. Your needs depend on the control of the pronouncements. You cannot exist without pronouncements. His love is cannot be search out completely. Gods love is discovered as we understand authority and control. Unfailing love of God is shown complete control over all enemies. It is a life of one deliverance to another. We must be completely delivered by the unfailing love of God. Spend years wrestling to subdue the enemy. The Psalmist says the pronouncements are more important than a mans existence. Than our lives. God does not share anything with man. He must satisfy Himself through the word made flesh. We receive all the Christ has through covenants and promises. That is the free love of God!The problem with man centered religion is that I has nothing to do with the unfailing love of God. It is focused on our lives. The Psalmist treats our lives as nothing compared to the love of God. Your breathing is insignificant to the love of God. It is the authority and control. 4 "I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands." The life of a saint is spent praising God night and day, because our lives depend on His pronouncements. The praise, petitions, cries, and confessions are the whole revelation we receive from God and they make us feel complete. When we lift our hands in worship, we are opening ourselves up to fellowship with God. Our hands are what we use to work and play, and they provide for our needs. But when we worship, we show our complete dependence on God by holding our hands up in surrender. The Psalmist is expressing his complete inability to survive without water in a desert, needing love more than his life, and offering empty hands that need God's gifts. He curses the self-righteous steps taken by those who oppose free grace.5 "My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you." A saint who recites the Psalms is dependent on God, just as he depends on food to sustain him. He is demonstrating that our natural desires can only be truly satisfied by,satisfying our eternal desires.God promised in the covenant to give Israel the land of milk and honey. God blessed them with riches and to make the earth fruitful to enjoy. God established the covenant through curses. To truly control our enjoyments we must curse the opposition. Cursing gives us control. If we suffer theft or any opposition to our welfare it will be meted out in the judgement on our abusers. We will curse them to hell and judgement. We will curse them in eternity. We love control. The enjoyments of the earth is our inheritance. God gave the earth to man to subdue. Sin brought the curse to recreate the fruitful earth. The wicked are caught in the curse. The righteous are recreated with the earth. We love to enjoy the fruits. It is our control through curses. God doesn't just love the saints, he loves them by giving the best food. Heaven is so clean and pure that it's like a completely different world from Earth. That's why the Earth will be purified by fire before we can live on it forever. You, my friend, will be able to live, work, and play on this beautiful Earth for eternity. The throne will be visible from the Earth.God created this earth to meet our needs. It provides medicine for our health. God gave us all the things to enjoy. No one has a right to limit anyone. It is cursing that person. Any man who has prevent the success and enjoyment by theft will receive the just consequences in hell.I have been at the best restaurants eaten the most exquisite food and doubly enjoyed it after I cursed under my control. And I never wasted my time in guilt. I could not get enough of this beautiful world.6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night." A great coach who was my favorite said "the difference between a winner and a loser is that little extra effort." Jimmy J. God loves us to seek Him through meditation when we are resting in bed.God wants us to trust Him with our going to sleep and awaking. Meditation has an after effect. It lowers your blood pressure so your sleep is sweet. Its like a spiritual buzz.We must learn to mix the Psalms with everything we do in life. The Psalms are the being of God. They inspire pleasure in the moment. Many people are good in activity but poor in "being." God does not get anxious about the event but the experience of being in the event. The Psalms teach that hard heart is anxious and looking for short term pleasure that leads to boredom. We must teach our desires the spiritual power by the word. The being is the desires we experience that come up from the depths of our souls. The Psalms tap into the well.7 "Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings." The Psalms are a perfect defense for every place in the world. The law and curses cannot be thwarted. Gods causes us to rest by control through the curses over the world. There is no power that matches Gods axioms. The rest, shadow of the wings of the eagle who is the Father, praise, cries, and petitions are all holistic by the pronouncements of the axioms. Wings = the axioms. Everything we trust in by desire comes from the word and Spirit. We develop a trust in Gods pronouncements.8 My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me." Clinging is holding onto God for everything. It is never letting go of God. A profession has become dependent on pronouncements like superman depends on his cape. We react to everything by pronouncing word for word Psalms. In all of life if you opened the spiritual eyes of a man you would see a true Psalmist clinging to God like his life depended on it. Do you react to danger by clinging to God? You will always overcome opposition by clinging.Gods pronouncements are extreme. If the extreme reactions become you reactions, it will be clinging to God. God is raging. The holy God is reacting to sin and violence with real wrath. You want an answer by the God who defends. You learn man is a puppy who is not to be trusted.A professional meets God in a man to man confrontation. The Psalmist says things to God a normal man would never say. He loves the man to man because it is the only honest communication in this life. If a man heard you praying psalms he would be offended. The Psalms curse the wicked. They will be so vicious and heartless that you cannot personally pray with another sinner. God cannot promote abuse and wicked curses. The Psalms descend into pits of the violent struggle of awful curses. God is teaching a saint where to get answers.9 They who seek my life will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth" Clinging to God is learning to confront our Godfather. Because you learn the curses are devastating. The clinging man feels like he could bend steel. He feels invincible.10 They will be given over to the sword
and become food for jackals." This is very violent and extreme saying his enemies will be scraps for the animals that feed on garbage. God is a vicious and terrible judge to the wicked.11 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God's name will praise him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced." We swear on the curses of Gods name. So many saints who do not swear on the covenant curses are accepted by God. But we must learn to subdue the enemy.
