Whenever we question or update our understanding of God or how He interacts with us, we run the risk of coming into contact with a spiritual virus: disbelief in God. This virus is characterized by a refusal to believe that God is who He says He is. However, we can take solace in the fact that God has spoken, and His word is final. His word is the only thing that can save our souls. Therefore, we should make it a habit to hear and read the word of God daily, so that we can be reminded of the good news that He has done the work and He will make all things new.What are the implications of holding fast to the promises of God? How can we learn to be content with His will for our lives? We must learn to yearn for His guidance and to take joy in His presence. Our faith must be unshakeable. When we receive salvation, we receive the power that raised Jesus from the dead. We have resurrection power. What is this resurrection power?When we approach God's word, we do so with the understanding that it is the final authority on all matters. This word has the power to save us from the darkness and evil of this world, and from the second death. By approaching God's word with humility and respect, we open ourselves up to His salvation.No matter what level of weakness or lack of success we may have in our accomplishments, the word of salvation seals it for our good and rewards us in heaven. Because the word of salvation recreates what was lost and proves us because of Christ's work, it is a louder success than our failure. The word of salvation is a battle cry from the Lord of Hosts that He will make our paths straight and level.The word of salvation is the only hope for the future. We trust in no other word but the promises of Christ. Our faith is only strengthened when we focus on Christ and His promises. When we fall back from hoping in His word, we stumble and fail to take hold of all that God has promised us. We need to plead with God and train ourselves in His word, like an Olympic athlete. The athlete trains for years so that he can have 20 minutes of success. This is how we are made. We are not living in a secular world, but we can create a healthy holistic view of the world by using the word as a cleansing agent for our souls and a weapon for our safety.
