This is what Paul was saying in Romans 9: that our human understanding is limited in its ability to comprehend or explain God's love, which is much greater and more powerful. The apostle was saying that God's sovereign will and our tendency to blame God produced the vision of love conquering hate and anger. The glory of God is so great that it cannot be contained or limited by our human understanding. Wherever God's glory is manifested, it is all-encompassing. He does not share His glory with any man. He accomplishes His purposes in the midst of the most supreme blame! It is presumptuous to think that one could go against God's will by accusing Him of being evil. As human beings, we have no right to question or contradict God. We should not take credit for any good that happens in our lives; instead, we should give all the credit to God, who is loving and faithful. God's will is more powerful than anything we as humans can do, even when we cannot see His goodness. He deserves all the glory for Himself, which shows His infinite love. This is why we rely on God for our only source of true goodness and kindness in our short lives. When we reflect on our lives, we can only see God's kindness toward us. That's because this is the only solid foundation we have on this earth! People come and go, civilizations rise and fall, and kingdoms lose their power, but God remains the same from one generation to the next and is praised by future generations that have not even been born yet! Why is it important to give God the praise for being the only faithful person in all of eternity? Because God sees the end from the beginning, and all of the worth of a generation is in His purposes being fulfilled for His own pleasure before they actually come into being. God must be the only eternal loving and faithful God who needs no one to fulfill His purposes. He proves His love as He is God. This is the beginning of wisdom. Who are you oh man to talk back to God?
