I've heard that we must earn our respect. In my opinion, the Bible includes respect in terms of producing the effects through agape love. I do not believe that respect can be earned. God is the only one who deserves our respect in the sense that it is to be in worship to Him. So that respect is drawn out of a sense of God is face to face with Him and communicating all that we are as much as we can be honest. how we know ourselves in any situation is where we learn total respect is a God consciousness.I think that the reason why Satan doesn't want us to understand respect, because if we did, we would realize how much we need to depend on God. Without respect, we would be living in a way that is offensive to God. This is why the doctrine of total depravity is so important in understanding how we should live before God. In other words, the best evidence of a community of respect is how highly they value Christ as the source of all respect. True respect is only possible when we rely on God completely. This is extremely important because we will not be able to understand our purpose on this earth unless we understand the value of Christ's work on our behalf. God communicates His love towards us through Christ's work, and if we are not familiar with our purpose then we are not fully comprehending this communication. I believe that having a sense of respect means being able to confront a thousand people who are against us, as long as it is according to God's purposes for our lives. In other words, we need to be able to stand up for what we believe in and what we know to be true, even if it means going against the grain. The Bible defines our relationship with God in terms of how much He has revealed about Himself. We know God personally because He has condescended to communicate with us. Although we are sinners who deserve no respect from God or from one another, we would not be able to understand our worth if we were put in a position of scorn. This is why the Psalmist cried out to God to save the Psalmist's life! Knowing our worth does not come from thinking we are intrinsically worthy, but from knowing God.A man who views the world from a purely humanistic perspective will often erect barriers to the unity of respect. He does this because he places a high value on himself and feels justified in treating others in a purely mechanical way. One person's condemnation of another is simply a reflection of their own future actions. Every man commits crimes against the unity of mankind through his own actions, yet he tells others not to do the same. This lack of respect is simply a way of exerting control..This world is in a state of chaos because people do not respect or fear God. They try to attain positions of power that they are not meant to have, which is a personal failing. God communicates with us on a personal level, as well as through all the evidence of His creation. We need to learn to listen to Him and follow His will if we want to live successful and fulfilling lives. In other words, we need to respect and fear God, listen to His will, and not try to put ourselves in positions we're not meant to be.
