The confusion arises from the distinction between public and private practice. In our private lives, we are not always focused on the things that matter most, whereas in our public practice, we are trying to develop a worldview that sees everything in the universe as either glorifying God or dethroning Him. It is not simply a matter of appearances before others, but rather gaining wisdom in the use of means so that, through our discernment, we can say things in our private prayers that we would not necessarily say in public. Therefore, we Christians ought to pursue peace in our public interactions and remain honest before God in our private lives. This is because all of these things are done through the use of means, or instruments. The problem is that we do not know how to use these instruments in a way that helps us deal with the issues at hand in a more effective way. That is why it gets so political. We are investigating the deeper levels of the dynamics of life. Every person who lives from one year to the next develops their own view of things as a matter of the causes of their own spiritual dynamic. So it's not what we see or what we try to do in our connecting with one another. It's a mindset that produces a level of understanding over a person's life. That's why there is a distinct enjoyment of a believer that is not of this world. In other words, our lives become hidden in Him over a period of time. This is why the Christian society is often seen as backwards by outsiders. Because people within the society have spent their lives seeking after self-righteousness, they have developed mean and unloving communication skills. These traits are indicative of an accusatory paradigm. That's why you can't fake this growing love. It overcomes not in a perfect way but in a way of overlooking the sins in others. A person who lives life with a humanistic political relational mindset will deal with everything about truth in light of the modern philosophies of this world. We are dealing with two very distinct pathways.
