This Psalm teaches the importance of the sacred language in the successful course of official history. The Psalms teach that everything that ever comes into existence is born into a peaceful existence, assuredly coming from God speaking it into existence. The Psalms proclaim that God's will cannot be thwarted no matter how accurately His description of all necessary things is. His creative word and re-creative word cannot fail in securing Him a good end. Many people believe that we are a product of a two-line teaching. If there are two lines drawn in opposition to each other, then the tension between them is unavoidable. The lines only represent two different perspectives on the same event, and they are unable to resolve the conflict between them. They teach that this personal tension is unintentionally taught by the apostle when he talks about the relentless "war with flesh". If there is tension, then the resistance is inadequately described as having more arbitrary power than the irresistible object we are struggling with. If the power on one side is strong enough to overcome our conscious existence, we are only believing in what is essentially God and Satan - two powerful forces with the same ability to override our existence. When you hear this, do you understand why you feel more frustrated and divided? This teaching divides the Christian life arbitrarily into the secular and religious. Your experience is like entering an imaginary kingdom that will end in death. One person is split into two downtrodden people are destined to be united in eternity. The danger in thinking that we oppose Satan by fighting against him relentlessly is to communicate a false view of God. The Bible properly teaches that we are controlled by the Spirit. If I only explained two lines of this devious scheme, I could control God and in controlling God I could harshly command you. Except for the complete destruction you have already suffered, I could tell your story in a variety of ways with just a few verses here and there. In this Psalm, we see that we are not just a product of our own mind and tough choices - we are a precious and beloved part of God's creation. Official history is typically established by humans in a sacred image and judged by His hyperbolic description of the perfect history. These customary speech patterns create our world view, which is more powerful than we commonly realize. We see that by redefining God's world, He has intentionally destroyed His creation by erroneously giving the present generation an imaginary way to merely invent their corrupt lives by merely presenting contradictory arguments. This allows exposed people to redefine God's creative word. What is allowed in the human experience will inevitably be used to define how we communicate and inevitably create divisions. This Psalm willingly endures a war begging God to silence this dangerous world view that is even deceiving the saints.
