The psalmist uses the authorized proclamations to inoculate himself. When you experience vicariously extreme despair at the eternal curse, you realize that the violent world is simply going through a personal hell. God willingly spoke eternal curses in His eternal anger and long suffering. We experience vicariously genuine anger coupled with unwavering love. As we speak the extraordinary promises and the eternal decrees, we vicariously experience the union of doubt and fervent hope. This extreme language becomes part of our instinctive responses. The mighty enemy is not as close to us as this continuous line of blessings and curses. The side effects of desperate prayer in the proper context of our ordinary experience in the wicked world catching the contagious virus of the idolatrous desires of others. These extreme prayers are offered to carefully bring these idolatrous experiences to God. We immediately go to the emotional extreme for the effective divine responses in eternal wrath. We indirectly experience the eternal stillness of passionate prayer. We voluntarily release the acute tension of idolatry. We recognize that spiritual experience consistently represents fallen qualities that combine with divine qualities. This direct experience undoubtedly remains the fascinating way in which we expand our hearts. We could not have eternal rest from moral corruption and idolatry if the main event of the cross had not occurred. The psalmist, of course, makes it clear that these prayers were professionally written in direct connection with the Son who would follow and endure all our pronounced victories and humbly accept the brutal losses we must inevitably have suffered. This is the effective substitute, presented in the Psalms as the condemned one who would vicariously experience what we are merely accomplishing on an eternal level on the cross. He would triumphantly bring all the unspeakable sorrows and unimaginable sufferings of his chosen people along with everlasting rewards. Every intimate struggle, crushing loss, idolatry, unspeakable joy, youthful exuberance, and creative power was vicariously experienced by all probable generations along with eternal experiences. The psalmist is like the thief on the cross in voicing the powers together, for the theif has experienced those powers on a much larger scale.God can only be drawn to our main attraction in Psalms to gather strength because Christ has carefully borne the losses attributed to Him. You intuitively understand why the psalmistic form of direct conversion is meticulously recorded to amply satisfy our instinctive desire to vicariously experience the plenitude of blessings and curses that come together. It is the cosmic mystery, the eternal attraction that we cannot plausibly explain.
