If you properly look at Jesus attitude toward the notorious sinner, you will see He was gracious. It was only those who merely spoke as they could inadvertently release themselves that He flattered a bit harsh. And this is because anyone who teaches they attempt to maintain the law suffers a need to place the weight of the whole law fall on them. Jesus Himself ordered this upon the self-righteous. This ambivalent attitude is more hostile than adultery and murder. God is more harsh than we could ever imagine. In fact He is so harsh He will not deposit it into our hands to be the judge. I reasonably think He adequately defends us because He affectionately knows we would be instant hypocrites. If we violate one law, we are accountable of violating the whole law. What should ill endure our criminal punishment? A specific act of contrition? A sincere confession? No DEATH! Now who sincerely wants to play games with Gods Law? If Christ did not satisfy the moral law, we would all be dead ducks.
