Reconciliation has different meanings in Old Testament; God came to reconcile the world with itself; He chose to approach the nations through His government which He established in Old Testament; but God never gave absolute authority to earthly government; God predetermined the success of his elect. Gave them his statues, laws and ordinances and established himself as king over Israel by doing the work of the ruler of the world.
But Israel as a nation turned away from God.They turned to idolatry, but since God showed himself to be a covenant God, He gave his chosen ones success in protecting them from this rebellion within the nation and prospering them if they went into captivity. God used his elect to judge the nations. who ruled over Israel in the dispersion, thus bringing in the Gentiles through the dispersion.
The works of God are clearly shown in the Old Testament account of the redemption story. God's works cannot be thwarted.God spoke clearly through his covenant of grace; He made his covenant only in the house of David; God gave David success by being faithful to his covenant; He voluntarily gave Israel everything it needed to be successful. they depend on their works.Rather, God only did the works of righteousness. He destroyed all of Israel's enemies. Every victory was predetermined by God. When Israel rebelled, God through his goodness established their success through his infallible love.
But to strengthen his church, God sent her captive for national sins and shows his infallible love through the trials and temptations of his people.The greater the trials, the more the mercy and grace of God will be seen. He always has a smile on his face behind the most difficult trials of his people. Having a record of God's covenant loyalty and infallible love, we are confident that He will. never leave us
