Onesimus had stolen from his teacher Philemon and fled to Rome, a large city where he could easily hide. Onesimus met Providence in Rome, where the apostle was serving a prison sentence. Interestingly, the apostles' response to Onesimus was to put the charge his account. This begs the question, how can the inspired apostle administer God's violated moral law to receive the specific accusations from Onesimus? I sincerely believe that the apostle was so careful when he was accused of teaching that God promoted evil by regulating bad choices. Instead of answering the exercise of free will, ask the key question, "Who are you to accuse God?" The apostle was wise to reconcile the contradiction of two opposing truths, both of which cannot be true in the same context. Law of death for anyone who disobeys the rules. Accuse the innocent of God who died to the law? Atonement for sin would be a mockery of Christ if we charge interest. The apostle goes one step further and tells me to withdraw his debts from my personal account. What is certain is that God is not a curmudgeon. God created all things according to their intrinsic worth. He is the only one who faithfully keeps a realistic ledger. The official story of eternal salvation is not pragmatic. It is a careful addition to God's handwriting. Ledger and His Eternal Retribution for the Evil Redefinition of Value when God properly applies the moral law. The lamb on the glorious throne sums up the considerate theft of wicked nations with exorbitant interest for the eternal worth of the satisfaction of Christ. He repays the wicked abundantly with eternal punishment; and richly rewards the righteous according to the value of Christ's contentment. The glorious gospel is non-negotiable. The gospel of God does not do business with condemned people surrounded by the terrible curses of law.
