The old testament church squandered more time in exile than going to the temple for worship. The truth is history represents a wavy line. There are high points and low.When the church suffers the decline, caught in the cycle of low expectations. God created the world to function on the established statutes.When the statutes are torn down, everyone suffers from being prevented until the statutes are restored. We must understand God is unlimited by the conditions of the world. He works in surprising places. We are not automation responding to commands like a dog. We are part of a creation that has flesh and bones of a healthy foundation for our protection. We must understand God recreates our lives by life and death pronouncements. God does not work by process. We prosper in the high times by the abundant blessing and low times by cursing. I've pronounced the Psalms for 40 years.It suffered 10 years of pronouncing to forge the social unity when we moved to a small town. I was vicariously experiencing considerable opposition in those 10 years. In a wicked culture we vicariously experience formidable opposition. And if God should choose to establish an extraordinary circumstance, we are abundantly favored. There are times we experience uncommon unity and other times tremendous opposition. We prosper in blessing and cursing. Israel spread the gospel more than going to the temple.
