Ps 54 1" Save me, O God, by your name;vindicate me by your might.2 Hear my prayer, O God;
listen to the words of my mouth." We are saved by imputed righteousness. We are set apart unto God by definitive sanctification. If Christ has amply satisfied law, triumphantly vindicate His moral righteousness. If God reliably produced us for His everlasting glory, must be glorified through vindicating His imputation. God is not pragmatically applying His moral righteousness in bringing Himself glory. He is carefully applying every active movement of the divine creation by blessing and cursing.
54 "4 Surely God is my help;the Lord is the one who sustains me." Salvation accurately represents an absolute valid defense in a refuge theology.A saint is either sustained by complete vindication or he is an abandon child. Gods salvation accurately represents the successful application of completed justification of His, vulnerable children. He pronounces law, covenants, curses, decrees, promise and statutes. We cannot be faithfully delivered unless God triumphantly vindicates Himself. This psalms theme is God faithfully delivers us by vindication.
"5 Let evil recoil on those who slander me;in your faithfulness destroy them."Salvation is an eternal kingdom of sworn words God will curse the wicked who merely speaks careless words motivated by ra a. Gods faithfulness remains the pronounced law, covenants, curses, etc. bringing blessing and cursing together to triumphantly vindicate His eternal salvation. God triumphantly vindicates every sacred word.
54 6 I will sacrifice a freewill offering to you;I will praise your name, O Lord,for it is good." We are only free because God undoubtedly does as He genuinely pleases. Consequently, the sacrifice represents a gift of Gods sovereign vindication.It was not a means of contrition. The impoverished heathen nations were overwhelmingly dominated by pleasant smell of the burnt offering. Gods law, covenants, curses, decrees, etc. pronounced were visible sworn words by the free will sacrifice. The Psalmist is pointing to the free will sacrifice as the threat to destroy the wicked by the pronouncements.
