Our faith has only one object. That object is a person. Because we are poor and needy, exist insecurely while in this body. We experience pain of faithlessly questioning faith. It creates a crisis because we are insecure. With this war going on inside and outside pressing us to be desperate not able to grow beyond failure. What is our response to this poor state? How can we experience strength? Prove we are devoted to the object of our faith with a confidence welling in us. We fluctuate in our confidence, left to cry out to Him all day long.

Our faith is our devotion, have no confidence to gain mercy unless we seek it all day long. We are led astray. He must be all or not at all. Our sincere devotion is to sufficiently rest with Him. Our devotion is only experienced when we are completely convinced unless we retain all of Him we are most miserable. After our apparent helplessness wants to vicariously experience the joy of the Holy Spirit. We genuinely want the joy of the Lord focused on Christ, crying out for divine mercy.

Christ is the eternal God. He caused us to close with Him as our only devoted object. Our experience of being poor and needy is a blessing as fallen sinners. We are easily led to believe  something in us is good enough to merit His love. But He is eternal, beyond our ability to be faithful. We rest in Christ faithfulness. Our devotion is dependent on being loving, faithful, and full of mercy. The object of our faith makes the experience sweet. The devoted connection we have in His bigness connected by His love felt in us. His devoted covenant that prevents us hungering for more of Him.

Presently we recognize unless we experience Him our faith will only be dulled. Unless we meditate on His love and faithfulness we will only be dulling our passionate devotion. We experience a deep devotion resting in His word. There is never a wearing out of devotion. His genuine love is eternal, faithful ever expanding, as far as the east is from the west. His word is alive, always a present comfort in time of need. His prudent counsel is new every lovely morning. He befalls our friend standing with us in the midst of constant derision. He is so genuine there is habitually a third person in all relationships. Absolutely, resting in His presence, enjoying Him surrounding us, sensing Him near, drawing out of us a devotion of a friend.

We implore Him to provide a sign of His goodness. We absolutely believe Him to be all our devoted friend in all circumstances. His effective way of adequately communicating faithfulness. A friend controls our circumstances. Our sincere devotion to Him naturally goes beyond any private person. We are devoted to Him pervading all of our experience. We nothing but follow Him, plead with Him, explore the joy of salvation in Him. We can be absolutely assured what is unseen will be made manifest to those around us. Our eternal advocate will manifest Himself on our behalf displayed by eternal devotion alive in His ardent devotion.
