Here is the problem. If God says no man knows who is saved does this include the men who God declared were saved since the garden? The Revelation teaches God has written the names of all the people saved in His eternal counsel. How can God determine who is saved before they receive salvation? Had Christ saved John the Baptist before he was born?If God can save someone without their choosing, you think He could apply to the event of the cross from His view of all time in one view? Because we believe when God planned everything in eternity past was as if that thing was already in the future eternal kingdom. If God could not comprehend forthcoming events His prophecies could not be trusted. If Gods word is not depended on, we have no reason to depend on God.Our faith is dependent on God producing exactly what He declares. The truth is Christ was offering the gospel to helpless men who were spiritually dead. Christ had to miraculously make them alive and determine their conscious choice to respond to the everlasting gospel. If eternal salvation was contained by time and space, the operative word could not be depended on. Therefore, salvation had to amply satisfy eternal purposes. God was adequately providing man with salvation completely worked out in Himself.Salvation is not contained by time and space. The cross was applied backwards and forwards. All the recorded saints in the old testament prove Gods word can be relied on.
