We must grasp how the Jews properly managed the historical accounts to sufficiently demonstrate a self-evident truth. These accounts are not a historical dogma. But they are accurately recorded to prove Israel the extraordinary works of God. We must correctly apply the whole teaching that is intentionally written in the worship book. In involving the teaching, we are identifying the purpose of the author in writing about the event. We must voluntarily give up our preconceived ideas and intentionally allow the sacred word to speak for itself. This is a moral teaching by the author, not an historical account per say.
God consistently brings about historical events for an exclusive purpose. He does not judge gentle saints. He constantly smiles on His chosen people in justly criticizing Israel. And we sufficiently recognize God typically working through David to prove judgement is not in the hands of the earthly king. Could David have thwarted Gods punishment of Israel? No, God said of David that" he satisfactorily accomplishes whatever pleases Me."we must properly recognize any time David naturally suffered on a personal level concerning his sins was necessary motivation to rise up to the continuous line of blessing and cursing. We never look at the established relationship in a pragmatic way. We cannot lower ourselves to these accounts in a purely psychological way. We habitually maintain the exclusive focus these historical events are for eliminating anything that thwarts Gods redemptive purposes.
Anytime we lower our psychological determinations we are idol worshipers. Gods discipline is the fundamental purpose of this redemptive story. But Gods unique purpose is to deliver His people. Instead of marking David weakness, we must look at the reaction to God pronouncing judgement. This account demonstrates the wisdom of David put in Gods hands. A man who curses the destruction will always allow God to be the judge. God fulfills the saints by responding to the cries. God never injures His saints. The exclusive purpose of redemption to save His saints by coming to their rescue. And you see that David is acting appropriately by Gods pronounced judgement. God is invariably responding to the authoritative pronouncement
