The Psalmist carefully teaches that sin remains a universal condition. All men are naturally born and customary practice sins. Every person sins because he voluntarily gives into sore temptation. Sin triggers guilt and shame. As sin is in the oppressive culture so too are terrible guilt and shame. This vicious cycle is ingrained in the violent culture because all men practice sin. The problem of cultural sin goes beyond personal guilt.
Because God implanted His law in man, man implements the law to morally justify his concerted actions. Man was uniquely designed to dominate the world by enforcing the law to thoughtfully bring glory to God. But when sin entered, he began to manipulate the law to inevitably become his own god. Not merely do they cynically manipulate the law as a destructive means to rise in arbitrary power but they use sin and guilt to enslave helpless people under their power. When a nation is turned upside down they suffer acutely the terrible stigma of an uncontrollable law that shackles them in cruel bondage to wicked rulers. This is why the Psalmist curses his aggressive enemies.
God pronounced the eternal curses because sin and terrible guilt are abusive. The Psalmist is rightfully concerned about an indifferent attitude toward the continuous abuse of the law. All sinners lower the moral standard of the law. The unspeakable shame of the law remains in isolation the fraudulent means by which sinners forcibly bring others under their arbitrary power. If we had no means to vehemently oppose the cruel indifference to lowing the standard of the law then we would become hardened toward the criminal abuse. God has spoken the curses of violent death to intentionally keep us sensitive to the aggravated abuse of lawless men.
