Ps 1 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.
3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers."
God is sovereign over all things. God is not just sovereign over the spread of His righteousness. He also decrees sin and destruction. God created the earth for man. In the garden Gods creation provided for all of mans needs. God created the things that met the needs of man through His law, covenants, curses, decrees, statutes, and promises. These eternal attributes were the means by which God exercised His will. In this way when man enjoyed the use of Gods creation, it was from the exercise of his own will. The 6 gifts are the exercise of the eternal freedom and pleasure of God. God pronounced the creation into existence. All things are created and sustained but the eternal pronouncements of God.
These pronouncements were the building blocks in the creation of man. Just like the soil provides the trees with the nourishment to grow and prosper so these 6 pronouncements are the foundations that meet all of mans spiritual needs. These pronouncements cannot return void. God revealed the power and the control over all things in these pronouncements. He gave them to man to control the creation. Man is not an extension of God. Man is a separate person. God created man to be a free moral agent.
The problem of saying that we are made to rule like God rules is that we are not God. But at the same time if we did not exercise our own wills then we could not relate to God. We would be robots. So these revealed pronouncements control all things. They contain all reality. Outside of Gods creative word is death and destruction. We must understand that because we are given Gods word to rule the creation then we have a standard of value. God did not just give us the things of creation. But He gave us the ability to understand the value of these gifts. He proved how much He valued us by the how we enjoy the gifts and how we control them. With this control we have expectations of God. These expectations are taught to us as we pronounce the gifts. This is why it is absolutely necessary in showing that we are engaged in this relationship with God to ask questions when His promises and covenants do not match our circumstances.
If God did not value our freedom then He would not give us control over the creation. But if we exercised our freedom outside of the containment of the pronouncements then we would be making our own god. God loves us to be bold and precise in the usage of the pronouncements. We must ask, why, how , when, where. We must understand the value that we have as rulers over the earth. We must be converted to express our strong desires for full deliverance.
