God’s love for those who oppose Him is demonstrated through His generous provision of a way—a path that offers hope and prevents their own destruction. Not only does God extend this opportunity, but He also actively works within their hearts to bring about transformation, setting boundaries that sin cannot cross and guiding them toward repentance. In His abundant mercy, God chooses to restrain His justice so that humanity is not plunged into despair and frustration to the point where they give up hope of finding satisfaction in worldly pursuits. Truly, God’s goodness shines through His love. However, within that love, God also exercises justice, much like a loving parent disciplines their children. He cannot uphold righteousness without administering punishment to the wicked and rewarding those who seek Him. The challenge lies in our limited understanding: what we see as justice may be only a fragment of the divine perspective. We do not perceive as God perceives. Unlike a mere scientist analyzing human behavior, God is the Creator—He sustains all creation, from the tiniest creatures to the vast universe, providing for their needs and ensuring they fulfill their purpose. Through divine wisdom, He orchestrates the coexistence of seemingly opposing truths—justice and mercy, suffering and joy, despair and hope, limitation and fulfillment, ugliness and beauty—culminating in the profound mystery of the Cross. It is there, in Christ, that all things find their ultimate affirmation—yes, and amen. No longer are we left to interpret separate cases; everything is revealed in the fullness of His redemptive work. From eternity past, God has decreed the beginning and the end; He has declared all of humanity guilty and deserving of swift judgment. We, with our limited knowledge, cannot question His divine purpose. Before Him, all are laid bare and silenced. Without His intervention, hope flickers and fades into darkness. We may find only temporary relief, but deep within, in the quiet chambers of our hearts, we continue to groan—some overwhelmed by helpless despair, others suffering physical pain, still others burdened by unmet hopes and dreams. Often, we cry out to God, yet do not receive an immediate answer. All we hold onto are His promises, which sustain us through the silence. In those moments, we are called to lament— to weep before Him—even if our sorrow seems purposeless or unending. Every moment, every day, we are invited to groan and wait. Yet, God is not silent forever. He listens. He will make a way. Dawn will break after the night. What seems impossible for us is entirely within His power to accomplish. Believe me, I speak from personal experience.
