And what of the tumultuous events unfolding across the world today? Can you see God's hand weaving through the chaos? He is the mighty Commander—leading an innumerable army, countless hosts gathered for battle, ready to execute divine justice and righteousness. Yet, down here in the realm ruled by Satan, kings are led astray by deception, and darkness, violence, and suffering pour out upon the innocent, the vulnerable, and the oppressed. But listen closely: the divine Commander is not idle. He is preparing His forces, mounting His chariots, and readying His horses for war. This mighty Protector is marshaling His divine power, fighting tirelessly for His children and His righteous cause. Let us speak plainly and truthfully: when the term "woe" is uttered in this context, it is far more than a mere expression of sorrow. It is a solemn curse, an invocation of divine judgment—a thunderous verdict pronounced from heaven upon the wicked. When Jesus declares these woes, He is not merely asking people to slow down or reconsider; He is issuing a divine decree—an authoritative pronouncement of justice, a heavy weight of law falling upon the rebellious. Turning to the Old Testament prophets, we see men who wielded God's Word with authority—words not just tender love songs, but sharp, cutting swords of judgment. Their voices carried blessings for obedience and curses for disobedience, as God's divine decree was spoken through them. These prophets, speaking under divine authority, did not merely suffer opposition; they delivered God's righteous verdict against a rebellious, wayward nation. Every word was like a mighty hammer, smashing through deception, tearing down idols, and imposing divine justice with unyielding force. It is foolish to deny God's right to defend and protect His people, or to pretend that humanity is not inherently inclined toward violence and murder by nature. Nor can we claim that God's concern is solely for spiritual matters—He is the Creator of all governments and institutions, and His divine order in the heavens is rooted in perfect justice. He works through this ordered creation and demands righteousness on earth. Justice is His obligation, and His patience does have limits; the reason He must judge the world is because mankind has turned away from Him, consumed by hatred for His ways and His rule in the heavens. This is precisely what the Apostle Paul echoes in Romans: "All day long I have stretched out My hands to a stubborn and rebellious people, who refuse to listen." Their hearts remain uncircumcised and hardened, resisting God's mercy and grace. These words are not gentle—they are words of divine judgment. Yet, within that same divine context, Paul reminds us that God, in His providence and sovereignty, preserves a faithful remnant—those whom He guards and sustains. And He asks: Who can stand against God's sovereignty? Not as if God's will is uncertain or divided, but as a demonstration that His love and His wrath coexist—His hatred for wickedness and His love for His chosen people are inseparable. His justice demands righteousness, and His mercy offers salvation to those who believe. These fragile, helpless beings—these tiny specks suspended in the vastness of the universe—stand before the throne of heaven, crying out with trembling voices for divine intervention. Who among creatures can bring an accusation against God's chosen ones? Who has the strength to stand against this mighty heavenly host? Who dares to lift a fist in defiance of the King of glory, who approaches in radiant splendor, so brilliant that His very presence blinds the eyes of men and shifts the course of history itself? It is the Lord of glory—majestic, all-powerful, and unfathomably righteous! Have you heard the divine call to arms? Have you gazed upon His splendor and luminous glory as He fights courageously on behalf of His people? Do you perceive the invisible armies arrayed in the heavens—those unseen powers and spiritual hosts orchestrating the flow of history? Do you truly know this Commander, who is intimately acquainted with every hair on your head, and who fights each of your battles with personal care and divine precision?
