God rules over every situation because He also rules over every person's will. If this were not true, humanity would fall into complete chaos and despair, with each individual losing the desire to choose life or do good. In His infinite freedom, God acts according to His own will—doing whatever He pleases. Nevertheless, within His sovereignty, He graciously grants us the gift of free will, allowing us to make choices. His will serves as the guiding force behind our actions; but we do not possess the power to change our own desires or to force others to change theirs. Any genuine change in our hearts or in our motivations can only occur through His divine intervention and power. The most profound act of our will—the highest form of praise—is to give glory to God, acknowledging that all our growth and progress depend entirely on His strength. It is His power that overcomes every opposition and resistance. Ultimately, this divine strength is for our good, and His display of power is meant to be observed and marveled at by all creation. We stand in opposition to idols—those lifeless images and false gods—because they are nothing but hollow representations, shadows of the true divine reality. While we oppose the will of idolaters, we cannot force their hearts to change; only God has the authority to humble and bring down those who oppose Him, reducing those who falsely see themselves as gods back to mere human beings. All the turmoil and suffering in this world stem from mankind’s rebellion against God; we experience this in the resistance and opposition we encounter, which reflect the conflict with divine authority. This ongoing spiritual battle is rooted in the clash of wills—our own against God's. Without divine intervention, pain and sorrow will inevitably accompany our struggles, for we are fighting against forces far greater than ourselves. Our hope and victory lie in God's ultimate conquest—when He will establish His perfect reign over all creation. Our role is to trust in Him and to bear witness to His power working in our lives, confident that His triumph is our true success. We are creatures caught in a continual struggle with our own will and desires. Many believe they hold authority—over themselves and sometimes over others—but true sovereignty belongs solely to God. The internal conflict within us will not end until all creation is fully redeemed and restored. Until that final day, we face mighty powers—forces of sin, evil, and destruction—that threaten to undo us. In truth, there is only one supreme power that rules over all wills: God Himself.
