Humanity often trudges through life, imagining themselves as something they are not, engaging in a form of worship that is superficial and misguided—one that ignores what truly holds significance. That is precisely why authentic worship must be rooted in both spirit and truth—focused on the core essence beyond mere material appearances. God regularly flips the world's values upside down, declaring that we are to have faith in what cannot be seen with our eyes. Yet, in a twist of irony, many have turned their concept of God into a kind of leprechaun of their own creation—something fashioned entirely in their own image or imagination. We boldly proclaim that God is everything—He is all in all—revealed clearly through His Holy Word. He entered our world in human form, lived among us, ascended into heaven, and now sits at the right hand of the Father in glory. We believe that Christ is present in heaven, guiding and interceding for us, yet we also hold that His Spirit dwells within our hearts, making His presence real and active within us. Our lives ought to revolve around Christ—centered on Him—and be directed by the Holy Spirit’s guidance. However, human beings have a natural tendency to craft their own gods—fantasies born from their own imagination—similar to creating idols out of the unseen. Throughout history, mankind has conjured up stories of leprechauns and mythical beings, for God has endowed us with a creative spirit. Our minds are wired for imagination—not to be feared but to be harnessed in ways that honor and praise the Creator. Imagination is a powerful, double-edged sword: it can be used for good or for evil, depending on how we direct our thoughts and visions. It is always intertwined with our reasoning, shaping vivid pictures of the things we choose to believe in and focus on. The mind is not simply a passive receiver of information; it is a vessel of desire, infused with knowledge and perception. The Scriptures affirm that we do not need many human teachers because the Holy Spirit dwells within believers and guides us into all truth. Therefore, a single core gospel truth forms the foundation upon which all understanding is built. When someone asks what you believe, your answer resembles a domino—one core truth that, once acknowledged, sets off a chain reaction, connecting and unifying all other beliefs. Conversely, a false belief is like a domino that causes a cascade of errors, leading to confusion and error. The Spirit reveals truth through this process of discernment—helping us see what is genuine and what is counterfeit. Even with our limited comprehension, we often sense when something is wrong or out of place. Trying to convince the world that our perceptions are rooted in reality is like attempting to persuade a Hollywood alien that humans are genuinely intelligent—an amusing, almost impossible task. The deepest affections of our hearts are reserved for what we cannot see—truths beyond our physical perception. Yet, the world only perceives what is tangible—the physical realm—and they grasp at spirits or spiritual faculties as if they are shadows or illusions—phantoms that deceive. How can we ever be certain that we genuinely believe in what is true and right? The only sure way is through the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
