In the fragrant offering that God delights to accept, He freely pours out His peace, joy, and love—gifts that go far beyond what our natural minds can fully comprehend or grasp. Without His divine light, our experience is limited to a sense of emptiness and confusion that comes from following our own rules, illusions, and misguided perceptions, which keep us from discovering the true path that only He can reveal. It is only through His illuminating presence that we can truly see reality, genuinely know the truth, and undergo real transformation. Ultimately, the truth is unveiled through the scriptures, which serve as both practical guides and profound revelations. As the Scripture says, "In your light we see light," highlighting that genuine understanding and clarity come from God's illumination. Yet, in our fallen state, we often deceive ourselves and others by constructing moral frameworks that appear orderly on the surface but are actually hiding the lie we cling to—that our perception of reality is the ultimate authority. Each person perceives truth through their own lens, often interpreting it in ways that support their personal desires and agendas. Our conflicts and struggles are not only against sin and darkness but also against the subtle idols of self-righteousness and self-fulfillment—those hidden treasures we cherish more than we realize. True insight and understanding only come when we humbly approach God, bringing with us all our illusions—our sins, our conflicts with others, and the deepest wounds of our hearts—and lay them bare before Him. This can be done through sincere prayer, meditating on His Word, and being filled with the Holy Spirit. Only then do we begin to break through the surface, penetrating into the depths of our iniquity and brokenness. God's purpose in His Word is to reach into our hearts, exposing our faults and wounds, but also healing them. His Word reveals not only our shortcomings but also the underlying reasons and motivations behind our sins—guiding us toward renewal, transformation, and redemption. His light leads us into all truth, shining even into our darkest pains with the brilliance of the gospel. It removes the foul smell of selfishness and replaces it with a fragrant aroma—the prayers and praises that rise from the depths of our being. In God's perspective, reality is defined by His measure, which often leaves us with a bitter taste when we cling to anything that is not centered on Christ. We are constantly searching for loopholes or quick fixes to satisfy our selfish cravings, often trying to find easy ways out. Because we are so deeply entangled in our own desires, we need to learn to think God's thoughts after Him—yet our natural instinct is to protect ourselves, cling to ideas that resemble Scripture enough, and rely on human solutions for our struggles. This tendency gradually shapes us into little gods, creating illusions and imagining God as someone He is not—distorting His true character and purpose.
