From the very start, Jesus Christ has reigned as the sovereign Lord over all creation—not only as the Creator who spoke the universe into existence but also as the Sustainer who maintains and upholds everything through His power. He holds all things together, ensuring the continued existence and order of the universe. Still, we are comforted by the truth that the Holy Spirit works within us to illuminate our hearts, taking the profound truths about Christ and revealing them to us in a way that we can understand and embrace. Although Christ once physically walked among us during His earthly ministry, His ongoing fellowship with His followers is maintained through the Spirit—serving as our Priest and Prophet—allowing us to remain in continual communion with Him and to partake in the qualities of the perfect human being He is. In a deep and meaningful sense, we also relate to Christ as an elder brother—His divine grace flows into us through familial bonds, making us part of His spiritual family. When we pray, it is the Spirit who intercedes on our behalf, presenting our petitions before Christ, who then advocates for us before the Father. This divine communication strengthens our relationship with the Triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—working together in perfect purpose. Through this union, we are made sons of God in Christ, sharing in His divine life and eternal fellowship. Christ’s presence with us is not only physical but also mystical; we can feel His nearness and see with spiritual eyes the assurance of His ongoing representation and care. This fellowship creates an intimate divine relationship—He has drawn near to us, opening our understanding and securing our confidence that we are personally, deeply, and eternally known and loved by Him. Christ, who once manifested Himself incarnate in the flesh, remains eternally the Son of God. Yet, no human can fully understand or mirror His divine nature except through His existence as the Son. Every person must have a moral principle aligned with the true human nature that Christ embodies. Without Christ dwelling within us through His Spirit, human beings experience a deep frustration—a dissonance or disconnect between their true divine nature and their earthly existence. How can we find comfort if Christ remains limited to His earthly body, especially as He ascends into heaven? We are called to know Christ as the only true man, for He dwells within us by His Spirit, making His presence real and near. This knowledge assures us that the Spirit moves within us to inspire and empower us to will and to act rightly. Moreover, we can be confident that we have a Friend—our Advocate—who understands us intimately and represents us before God, as if He were physically present with us. Additionally, this same Christ, having already entered into human flesh, now speaks to us as a divine envoy from the Father, guiding us along the right path. His incarnation helps us understand our own weakness, for in His humility and suffering, He exemplifies how we can be made strong through His grace.
