This is why God has designed us to perceive His love primarily through His Word. The Scriptures are given to draw us closer to knowing the full height, depth, and length of His love. Additionally, God has given us His Spirit—a longing Spirit that desires to guide our hearts toward Him. This gift enables us to focus our desire and attention on encountering God's love more deeply. Rather than demanding love from us, God first loves us; He initiates relationship and invites us into a knowledge of Him. Instead of expecting us to love one another without aid, God demonstrates His love through others, using community and relationships as channels of His grace. Our true calling is to be attracted to God—to be so captivated by His love that we are absorbed by it, so that in turn, we can share that love with others. God’s love surpasses even our most daring dreams or our limited understanding. It serves as the very foundation of all that is good in this world. Because of this, we often diminish His love to a small gift or a simple gesture, yet the words we use to describe it attempt to capture its vastness—comparing it to the immensity of the universe itself. God's love is omnipresent, existing wherever God Himself is present. This presence is why, when we feel His love, our eyes are filled with light—reflecting His glory shining within us. God's love flows in one direction only; it is a consuming love that takes hold of us, making us the objects of His affection. On this planet, no pain or suffering can withstand the power of God's love, for it is greater than any anguish we face. We are painfully aware of our tiny, almost insignificant existence in the grand scope of the universe. This awareness reminds us that we cannot fully escape the mixture of love and grief that characterizes our human experience. If only we had the courage and clarity to truly see the vastness of this universe and the splendor of heaven, we would be able to experience a much deeper, more profound portion of God's love. Unfortunately, our limited perception and lack of understanding prevent us from fully appreciating the grandeur around us. We need a divine revelation—an unveiling of God's love—because God comes to us within our own flesh and blood, meeting us where we are. This is why salvation is only found in Christ. There is nothing within ourselves that can elevate us above Him or rival His sufficiency. God proves His goodness by having no competitors—His love and grace are unmatched and complete. Because of this, our desires for happiness and fulfillment are blessed—they are given to us by God and cannot be thwarted. He places within our hearts a longing to focus solely on Him, to savor the richness of His love and goodness. He has promised His love first and foremost, constantly reminding us of its grandeur. Our suffering cannot replace or diminish God's promise of love; nothing in this life can compare to the eternal richness of His affection. God’s love is like a mighty river descending from heaven—filling us with His goodness, as if we were feasting at a divine banquet. This love flows from our hearts, like streams bursting from a fountain, bringing life and vitality. By fixing our gaze on His glorious light, we are lifted higher, experiencing more of His love. When God reveals Himself as the most beautiful and powerful being we can behold, His glory sparks a deep sense of awe and reverence within us. As we are filled with His goodness and glory, we undergo a purifying process—being drawn into a forgiving love that surpasses all worldly understanding. This divine forgiveness renews and transforms us, leading us toward a love that is eternal and unending.
