God is our refuge and sanctuary. He desires to hide you within Himself, shielding you from the person you once were. There is no alternative path to true transformation. Humanity will often push you to revert to your past sins, reinforcing the idea that God is distant or inaccessible. They may persuade you that there’s no real way to escape accusations or feelings of guilt and irresponsibility. But listen carefully. God has a special refuge—an intimate place where He can restore your dignity and honor. No earthly power can guarantee to recreate you in the way only He can. People around you might expect you to prove that you’ve changed, to show outward signs of a new life. However, God’s desire is for you to rely completely on Him. When you do, He is delighted to shine through your life, making His goodness evident. Honestly, it’s about trusting Him fully, and He will work Himself into your story in ways that highlight His greatness. When we come to salvation, we come to realize that there is only one place in this entire world where we are fully known, fully loved, and completely accepted—by God. It’s a place of total dependence on someone who transforms us from the inside out through His grace. Grace is our only hope for real change. Without it, we simply prolong the struggle of seeking someone who truly has the power to transform us. The more we resist the gospel’s free offer of grace, the more we try to avoid the simplicity that is found in Christ. And the more we resist that simplicity, the more we feel anger, frustration, and anxiety taking hold of us. What we need to understand is that true deliverance only comes when we silence those voices of condemnation—when we choose to trust in God and allow Him to set us free. We know that when critics or teachers remind us of our shortcomings, we must stand firm and declare, “I will not be shaken,” anchored in the unmerited favor that God bestows upon us. When we rest in His grace, we find the strength to overcome every accusation and to embrace the new identity He offers.
