Christ’s coming into the world was to identify fully with us, sharing in our humanity to provide a perfect salvation. He is the Creator of all things, and through His spoken word, He has brought about the reality we live in—an ideal world formed and continually recreated by His divine power. God's word is characterized by "yes" and "amen"—it is certain, trustworthy, and will never return void. We depend entirely on His word and His promises for life, breath, and peace. Christ has fulfilled all of God's promises perfectly, representing the only acceptable work in obedience to God's word. Because of Christ’s flawless obedience, God views our lives through the lens of His perfect work, contrasting sharply with other understandings of ourselves. God cannot fail to uphold His covenant because His love is steadfast and unwavering. He promises to sustain His work within us, ensuring that our salvation is complete and final. God's love for us is a steadfast defense—an unbreakable shield—that fully delivers us from all opposition and grants us eternal security. His love is not only constant but also effective, working perfectly to bring us to the fullness of salvation and life eternal. God’s love is both everlasting and condescending. His love endures forever because it originates within Himself and does not rely on anything outside of His own nature. God does not need any other love to complete or fulfill His eternal love; it is perfect and self-sufficient. When we experience God’s eternal love, it is because He perceives us as intimately connected to Him, rooted in perfect reliance and trust. The separation or distance we sometimes feel in this life is viewed by God as our inability to fully grasp or accept this flawless love. When the psalmist expresses gratitude for God’s everlasting love, he is acknowledging that God has graciously provided laws, commandments, promises, and covenants—divine assurances that serve as the foundation upon which he prays and seeks God in every circumstance. These divine provisions are not just rules but expressions of love that wash away our frailties and weaknesses, showing that God's acts are driven by unwavering love, even when we falter. The unity of God's communication—His plans, His means, and His ultimate purposes—is rooted in His constant and unshakeable love. Through this love, God glorifies Himself, demonstrating His perfect nature and divine majesty. In His profound love, God chose to become a Man—an act of condescension—to reveal His boundless love to us humans. Though Christ’s incarnation was a completed act when He took on human form, Christ has always existed as the eternal Son from the beginning. The purpose of God's condescending love is to accomplish His divine plan: to rescue and deliver those He loves and to bring them into intimate communion with Himself. No created being—be it human or angelic—can save themselves; salvation is entirely a work of God’s grace. It is His initiative and His gift.
