A love that is grounded in the divine sustains and nourishes a heart that feels empty, offering a sense of peace and rest found only in God. In the presence of the divine, feelings of loneliness are not dominant, because God stands as the only true companion in life’s journey. Where can one truly find rest and fulfillment? Isn’t it ultimately in the divine nature of God itself? Just as a deer yearns for water to quench its thirst, do human beings not also long for a deeper, more meaningful connection with God? Can we ever become tired or indifferent in our pursuit of the divine? Does this innate longing not serve to increase our desire, creating a continual thirst that grows deeper and stronger over time? We can always rely on God to ignite and nurture this longing within us, which, in turn, encourages a renewal of our desire for the divine—since from God flows an endless stream of mutual love and longing. To truly attain peace, our feelings of longing and confusion must be resolved through His mercy, because the insatiable thirst born of divine compassion ultimately extinguishes loneliness and fills the heart with divine love.
