What I cherish most about this play is its ability to transport me back to a time when generations yearned for a more genuine and sincere relationship with God. This nostalgic reflection underscores how true openness and transparency have diminished in modern society. While we recognize that divine intervention often reveals itself through everyday circumstances, we also accept that God sometimes acts in unexpected and extraordinary ways. So, why then do we restrict our teaching to the idea that God's work is limited to familiar, mundane methods? Perhaps because the traditional ways of perceiving divine activity are becoming less accessible or are no longer truly transparent. This leads us to believe that God must reveal Himself through other, less conventional means. The idea of “transparency” here refers to understanding that superficial knowledge alone is insufficient. Our faith calls us to go beyond mere understanding, to rely on inner sincerity, and to embody truth in how we live. This perspective is deeply connected to our core beliefs. For example, I distinguish between a physical object—a cup—and the words inscribed within the Bible. The real power of those words lies not in their material form but in the human institutions and hearts that uphold them. Recognizing this, we might see symbols and rituals as empty routines, dismissing their significance and lowering our expectations. Instead, we should view them as opportunities for genuine discernment—moments to listen carefully and remain receptive to the many ways the Holy Spirit influences us. This approach echoes Christ’s own experience. His passionate zeal for the sanctity of God's house led him to challenge human institutions, demonstrating that by transcending traditional religious practices, we can forge new paths to salvation. It is crucial to remember that possessing certain privileges or external religious practices does not grant us license to act recklessly. Our actions must always be guided by the Word and the Holy Spirit. At times, we can lose sight of our pursuit for a true encounter with God, perceiving His presence as too mysterious or overwhelming. While rituals can bring comfort and blessing, God's immense holiness can also feel intimidating. God is not a deity of mere obedience; His presence draws us in with awe and reverence, reminding us of His majestic, sometimes frightening holiness. He longs for us not only to believe in His sacrifice but also to stand in wonder and reverence at His unmatched glory. His desire is to envelop us with His fire and His Holy Spirit. To truly meet with God, we must look beyond superficial rituals and seek to understand His true nature. This reflection highlights the importance of transparency, acknowledges that many past reforms faced resistance, and recognizes the inherent challenges of embracing genuine spiritual renewal. Throughout history, people have continually challenged deeply rooted systems that many have trusted and relied upon, positioning themselves as advocates for liberation from cultural, societal, and religious constraints. Today, I observe a resurgence of this spirit—a movement that surpasses traditional forms of protest. The theatrical production and its performers might not fully realize the profound influence they are currently having on me. Their performance acts as a powerful mirror, reflecting the hypocrisy embedded within a culture that, especially during the 1970s, lacked genuine transparency in religious practice. If such duplicity and concealment could infiltrate the church so deeply, it affirms that divine work extends far beyond conventional religious institutions and rituals. Our concern is not merely with the methods used to challenge these systems but with the deeper message they convey—their relevance and significance in confronting the pervasive hypocrisy of our times. On a personal level, this experience has ignited a spiritual awakening within me, revealing deception and fostering a desire for authenticity. I have not felt such a strong, tangible presence of the Spirit in many years. An overwhelming sense of something greater has taken hold of my soul. Since witnessing the play, I have experienced a profound peace that surpasses understanding—an inner renewal that revitalizes my spirit. I notice that others around me seem to share this feeling as well, as if a collective awakening is beginning to emerge.
