This passage highlights the crucial importance of grasping the concept of divine sovereignty and personal responsibility. It underscores that true freedom is found when individuals acknowledge that ultimate authority and judgment belong solely to God. Recognizing God's supreme power and justice allows people to understand that justice is ultimately determined by divine will. People do not seek God's judgment unless they genuinely desire it, and in turn, God offers grace—His mercy, fairness, and kindness—that individuals truly seek when they turn to Him. Responsibility for facing judgment does not rest with God or the saints who serve as mediators; instead, human beings are accountable for their own decisions and actions. When individuals sincerely desire help rooted in divine justice, they earn the right to receive equitable and fair recompense from God. From this perspective, the most effective way to address societal problems is for God to graciously grant us our sincere hopes and aspirations, thereby aligning divine provision with human longing for fairness, support, and justice. May divine justice, in its mercy, grant even the ungrateful exactly what they wish for, ensuring that all affairs are properly ordered and directed according to divine will. As the psalmist wisely notes, swift divine intervention can serve as a safeguard, reducing harm to innocent people by preventing prolonged periods of injustice and chaos.
