O Holy Name, Our Shield and Light
In shadows deep, where troubles reign,
We lift our hearts to God’s holy name.
A beacon bright through storm and strife,
He guides our souls to righteous life.
From Psalm 11, a cry ascends,
“Arise, O Lord, with hands that mend!
Lift up the weak, the oppressed, the small,
Let justice strike where wickedness falls.”
His hand extends, a shield divine,
Protecting innocence, drawing the line.
In moral chaos, His truth prevails,
His justice steadies when all else fails.
Psalm 111 sings of salvation’s grace,
A covenant firm, time cannot erase.
With awe we stand, His majesty near,
A holy name that banishes fear.
Human hands falter, frail and flawed,
Yet through His love, redemption’s awed.
By grace alone, the gap is spanned,
A righteous bond in His gentle hand.
