The regulations outlined in the Old Testament often reflect elements of discrimination and frequently endorse a form of voluntary collective responsibility. It is crucial to avoid imposing modern American pragmatic values onto the biblical text, as doing so can distort its original meaning. If the church were to remain an obscure entity, quietly contributing to societal decline, it would depict God as merely a noble spiritual presence—distant and detached from the physical world. However, this is inconsistent with the biblical portrayal of God, who is the creator of the material universe and the one who established systems of authority grounded in history and worship. Not every instance of evil stems from the malevolent influence of Satan, who causes suffering; rather, corrupt individuals often distort God's governance, which is fundamentally rooted in divine law. God's judgment against evil is embedded within intricate schemes woven into the wicked hearts of humanity, not simply a moral contest between two opposing truths. Instead, immorality often manifests as the misuse and abuse of law itself. Leaders who abuse their authority are inherently unscrupulous; they act out of selfish motives rather than genuine concern or moral integrity. An individual's morality can be assessed by whether they recognize the distinction between right and wrong within the framework of law. I do not follow religious leaders blindly because they interpret the law, just as one would not blindly accept a financial advisor’s interpretation of numbers. Leaders should serve as advocates, carefully considering the moral consequences within a reformed legal structure. When facing personal struggles, it is helpful to remember that countless others are enduring similar or even greater hardships. It is important to maintain a broad perspective and recognize that you are not alone. In my experience, I pay close attention to those around me and value their reactions; they do not simply accept things at face value but observe facial expressions and body language to uncover deeper truths. Their harshest criticisms are often directed toward those in power who abuse their authority, at prominent figures who remain silent amid ongoing injustices, and at their loyal supporters who overlook these issues.
