Bold Before the Throne
Beneath His throne, where galaxies bow low,
God’s boundless might in radiant torrents flows.
Yet courage stirs, a gift from hands divine,
To draw us near, where trust and boldness shine.
God’s boundless might in radiant torrents flows.
Yet courage stirs, a gift from hands divine,
To draw us near, where trust and boldness shine.
No ledger of our faults could bear the weight,
His holiness would crush beneath its state.
Exposed in full, our sins would blaze too bright,
Consuming hearts beneath His searing light.
His holiness would crush beneath its state.
Exposed in full, our sins would blaze too bright,
Consuming hearts beneath His searing light.
If every wrong must first be named, confessed,
How could we stand, by guilt’s vast tide oppressed?
The endless scroll of failings would unwind,
And drown the soul in shadows of the mind.
How could we stand, by guilt’s vast tide oppressed?
The endless scroll of failings would unwind,
And drown the soul in shadows of the mind.
But grace descends, a bridge of mercy’s art,
His Spirit lifts the trembling, contrite heart.
No perfect mark need we in full attain,
For Christ’s own blood has cleansed the deepest stain.
His Spirit lifts the trembling, contrite heart.
No perfect mark need we in full attain,
For Christ’s own blood has cleansed the deepest stain.
So bold we come, not crushed by sin’s great sum,
His throne of light now bids the weary come.
In awe and trust, we kneel where love has won,
Embraced by Him, the Holy, Transcendent One.
His throne of light now bids the weary come.
In awe and trust, we kneel where love has won,
Embraced by Him, the Holy, Transcendent One.
