Each person born into this world, in some way, alters the principles of divine law, whether consciously or unconsciously. Such alterations can be interpreted as a form of antagonism towards both the divine and the fundamental order of creation. Individuals living with disabilities, in particular, often strive to forge a connection with God, as if they are prisoners held captive by the malicious actions and attitudes of others. The dynamics of our interactions with one another place us in considerable danger, primarily due to the overwhelming temptation to seek to amend our own wrongdoings. We are inherently incapable of producing genuine substitutionary atonement through our own efforts. A person who truly exemplifies the concept of substitutionary atonement brings a definitive end to the sin that has been thoroughly reconciled. We find ourselves in opposition not only to those who harbor ill intentions and compel us to atone for our shortcomings but also to the self-righteous individuals who promote a belief in an unattainable standard of perfection. Together, we navigate this complex landscape, seeking understanding and grace in our relationships, while striving to align ourselves with the divine truth that offers true reconciliation and healing. Every individual inevitably finds themselves engaged in challenging relationships with those who are aware of their own shortcomings while they are on their spiritual journey toward God. It is through a profound understanding of the abundant blessings that nourish and strengthen the vital connection that God maintains with His faithful followers that true freedom is discovered. In God's sovereign freedom to make choices, we are graciously granted the opportunity to acknowledge and embrace His gifts. Every intentional thought, desire, and harmful action we direct toward our relationships compels us to reconsider our exclusive fellowship with God. The ongoing battle against formidable opposition necessitates the declaration of these divine gifts, which include the law and the various covenants established throughout scripture. This concept resonates deeply with what the authors of the Old Testament conveyed when they underscored the importance of inscribing the moral law on our doorposts, binding it upon our foreheads, and engraining it within our hearts.
