Our only means of transcending the uncertainties that arise from our separation from the covenant law is to invoke condemnation upon those who transgress it. Our understanding of Christ is deeply intertwined with our own moral and spiritual integrity, highlighting the profound connection between our faith and the covenantal promises that govern our existence. In the grand design of God, the entirety of creation was intentionally envisioned and brought into being in accordance with His covenantal law. The fundamental principles and justifications that govern the cosmos were established through this sacred commitment, reflecting the perfect order of His divine law. Humanity's deep-seated desire to adhere to the law's requirements was inherently woven into God's purpose for mankind. Yet, with the emergence of sin, humanity became spiritually blinded to the covenant, recognizing only the rigid demands of the law. The fall of humanity created a significant rift between the law and the covenant, making it necessary for Christ to incarnate and bridge these two vital aspects. The continuous struggle of creation against sin and corruption illustrates our diminished capacity to align with the authoritative structure of God's covenantal law. God's covenant serves as the foundational principle for all existence, meticulously designed according to His impeccable law. The elect of God possess boundless authority to declare the promises of the covenant, articulate and uphold its laws, and to condemn those who choose to separate themselves from the covenant. The wicked remain deeply ignorant of this unity and display animosity toward it. The elect actively shape the realization of this unity through the proclamation of the covenantal law and corresponding denunciations, which transcend the blindness of the wicked, thereby working to unify all of creation. Following the fall of humanity, a profound darkness enveloped mankind, obscuring the sacred promises of the covenant made through Christ. Without a recognition of covenant fidelity, the unrighteous find themselves trapped within the rigid confines of the law. The core conflict with malevolence lies in our struggle to assert our covenantal rights through the declaration of divine law, which serves as a protective barrier against the threats that seek to undermine our faithfulness to Christ's covenant. To separate the covenant from the law is to sever an essential part of one’s identity; the true archetype of humanity is embodied in the figure of the covenantal law-keeper. In this context, Christ emerges as the guardian of the covenant. The covenants empower Him with the legal authority to administer the law and its associated penalties. His obedience is credited to us, as He solemnly promises to bear the consequences should the covenant falter. We are united in the bond of covenantal law as we partake in the eternal rest it provides. As God’s chosen people, our personal struggles with the world and our relationships with others arise from the discord created by the malevolent forces that disrupt the harmony between God's covenant and His law. This reconciliation is vital for us to achieve true spiritual rest. Our ability to restore the essential unity of covenant and law is anchored in our recognition of the curse. God has equipped us with the necessary means to confront and overcome all forms of opposition. We are armed with eternal tools for engaging in spiritual warfare against the dark forces that seek to undermine our unity, which is derived from the covenantal law. The grace-filled nature of the covenantal law stands in stark contrast to the inherent tendencies of the wicked, who are often blind to the profound significance of this unity.
