This is where the world becomes particularly deceptive. The essence of a person is revealed in their private moments, in the solitude of their thoughts and feelings. It is in these quiet times that one's true self emerges, unaffected by the façades they present to others. The energy put into outward appearances can be misleading, as a person truly lives within the confines of their own mind—an inner world so intimate that no one can fully understand another person’s thoughts and feelings, regardless of how closely they may observe their actions. At the end of the day, each individual remains fundamentally the same as they were at birth, shaped primarily by their innate nature rather than by any external influences. I urge you to refrain from judging a person based solely on their outward appearance. Do not fall into the trap of believing that meticulous planning and effort are the primary determinants of a person's success. The actions we take and the energy we expend are merely surface-level indicators; they represent only a fraction of what truly defines a person. When we equate real change with what we observe in others, we are pursuing an elusive goal—a carrot on a string that we can never quite reach. Our understanding of change is intrinsically linked to our perception of who we are. The Bible serves as the sole true reflection of the human soul, acting as a guiding light that reveals our true nature through its profound effects on our lives. Genuine transformation does not occur unless we embark on this spiritual journey outlined in its teachings. In fact, no one can fundamentally improve themselves through mere behavior modification techniques. It's important to understand that while people may present an altered exterior through superficial changes, these changes are often short-lived and merely reactions to external pressures that create a temporary need for improvement. Over time, despite significant effort and energy expended, individuals rarely undergo a true transformation that alters the core of their sinful nature. This is precisely why the power to effect true change rests solely in God’s hands. He has made it clear that all humanity is under the weight of sin, rendering our ability to transform ourselves fundamentally impossible. To truly understand our identity as sinners, we must reject any other framework of salvation that does not stem from God’s calling. We need to be drawn into a relationship with Him through a distinct and clear invitation—one that resonates with the voice of the Shepherd. God offers us a reality that does not hinge on our need to change; instead, we are invited into a realm where true transformation occurs as God meets our needs, revealing that He alone is good. It is through this divine voice that we find the freedom to become what we are meant to be, without the burden of striving to become something we are not.
