In Psalm 109:2, the psalmist articulates his grievances, stating, "For wicked and deceitful men have opened their mouths against me; they spoke against me with lying tongues." This raises several critical questions regarding the psalmist's perception of divine silence. What are the principal reasons behind this accusation? What does the specific dilemma signify? A consistent theme throughout the Psalms is the critical issue of the redefinition of moral law. God has established this law accompanied by a clear warning of an eternal curse for those who may attempt to reinterpret it. Historically, it is evident that Satan was the first to subtly distort the Law of God, a distortion that has led to significant adverse consequences within the framework of moral law. When pagan nations attempt to redefine the divine law, they inadvertently bring curses upon themselves. The chosen nation of God responds to these pagan curses by invoking the legal stipulations of their own law, which may include justifiable warfare against those who oppose them.
