As followers of Christ, we gain the ability to embrace and command these divine principles, rather than being bound by them in fear of punishment. In His redemptive work, God reveals Himself in a way that elevates us, granting us authority despite our failures. We are no longer merely subjects of the law; we are now empowered as sons and daughters, able to command the very axioms that once held us captive. Through this transformation, our relationship with God is redefined, allowing us to live in a state of grace and authority, even in the face of our imperfections. When we experience salvation, the law loses its power to condemn us. As David expresses in Psalm 103, God does not treat us according to the full weight of our sins. This raises an important question: what standard does God uphold when we stumble and fail in our moral and spiritual commitments? God has bound Himself to a framework consisting of laws, covenants, commands, promises, decrees, and blessings that serve as the foundation of His relationship with humanity. In light of our disobedience, how does God respond? He operates within the boundaries established by these divine principles, or axioms. The one who governs all creation has consciously chosen to place Himself in a position where He is aware of our shortcomings and failures. When we falter, how does God choose to relate to us? Instead of condemnation, He provides us with a new understanding of these axioms, flipping them around to reflect how we engage with the law now that we are believers.
