Through my experiences, I learned that diligence and commitment yield positive results. This formative understanding of the link between hard work and success became a foundational element of my identity. It's a powerful lesson that resonates deeply, highlighting how achievement can influence not just personal satisfaction but also how we are perceived by others. It is important to recognize that a person may appear outwardly moral and righteous, or they might engage in egregious sins, yet this is not how God assesses wickedness. According to Scripture, seeking glory for ourselves equates to waging war against God, and it is this very act of conflict with the Almighty that constitutes true wickedness in His eyes. God does not operate on a sliding scale of morality. We are either aligned with the blameworthy—those who are friends of the wicked—or we find ourselves on the side of love, which is characterized by being a friend of God and thus a friend of His friends. When individuals are oblivious to God's ways and truths, it often leads them to exhibit unkindness and aggression, particularly towards women. This lack of understanding can result in a natural inclination towards hostility and harshness, as they fail to recognize the inherent dignity and value that every person holds as part of God's creation. Therefore, it is crucial for us to reflect on our speech and actions, ensuring that they align with God's teachings, so that we can cultivate a spirit of love and kindness rather than aggression and conflict.
Furthermore, it is crucial to understand that a coward is not merely someone who shies away from physical confrontation; rather, he is a person who resorts to using language as a weapon to manipulate and control others. This behavior often stems from a deep-seated insecurity and a fear of being overshadowed by the achievements of those around him. As a result, such individuals find it nearly impossible to genuinely celebrate and rejoice in the successes of others when they remain entrenched in their natural, unrefined state. Their inability to embrace the victories of others reflects a profound lack of understanding of grace, both divine and relational, which ultimately hinders their capacity for authentic joy and support in the lives of their loved ones. It is fundamentally unfeasible for men to embody the role of supportive cheerleaders for their wives without a profound understanding of God's grace. In this world, there exist two primary approaches to creativity and influence. The first approach is one rooted in aggression and malevolence, which arises from the mindset of a self-made man. A self-made man is someone who places himself at the center of his own existence, essentially becoming his own god. This individual fails to recognize that all that he possesses is a gift from God; instead, he is driven by a relentless desire to exert control over every aspect of his life through aggressive means.
In His wisdom, God recognizes the necessity of abolishing the harmful words that breed aggression and blame. He emphasizes the importance of ruling through goodness rather than allowing evil to prevail. By doing so, God upholds His commitment to righteousness, ensuring that His justice reigns supreme while providing a pathway for redemption and healing for His people.
It is a profound challenge for us to let go of our aggressive tendencies and embrace a more compassionate way of living. Often, we hold the misconception that in order for God to reach us, He must intervene forcefully, perhaps by striking us with a sudden realization or a dramatic wake-up call. However, the true essence of divine teaching is found in the gentle and unwavering love that God extends to us from the very beginning. This love is not conditional or dependent on our actions; rather, it is a constant presence that guides us toward understanding and embodying love ourselves. God orchestrates the universe in a way that ensures all things ultimately lead to goodness, for His nature is inherently good and cannot be altered or undermined by external forces. This divine goodness flows into our lives, illuminating our path and encouraging us to reflect that love in our relationships with others. In this divine economy, we find that being humble and recognizing our place beneath others—far from diminishing us—actually enriches our existence. God blesses us with various gifts and talents, and in doing so, He invites us to take a position of service and support in the lives of those around us. Through this process, we discover that there are far greater rewards to be found in being cheerleaders for others—celebrating their successes, uplifting their spirits, and fostering a community of encouragement—than in pursuing our own aggressive ambitions. Embracing an attitude of support and love not only transforms our relationships but also enriches our own lives, as we learn that true fulfillment comes from lifting others up rather than pushing them down. In essence, by shedding our aggression and embracing a loving disposition, we align ourselves with the divine purpose that God has for us, creating a ripple effect of kindness and compassion that ultimately benefits everyone.
