Because He laid down His life for us, we have also died to sin. Sin no longer has dominion over us. While we may not be entirely free from the presence of sin in our lives, we are liberated from its guilt and the oppressive weight of the law. Through our identification with Christ—who achieved total victory over sin, Satan, and all forms of evil—we have died to the power that sin once held over us. It is essential to recognize that David, in the midst of his trials, offered countless prayers. The only thing standing between us and the incredible gift awaiting us—something too magnificent for our minds to fully comprehend—is the passage through death to the other side.
