In the New Testament, Jesus addresses this issue by distinguishing between the righteous and the unrighteous, symbolically separating the sheep from the goats. He made a poignant observation about the Pharisees, highlighting the stark contrast between those who genuinely seek to follow God and those who are merely going through the motions of religious observance. Jesus emphasized the importance of authentic religious obedience by teaching that our treatment of others is directly linked to our relationship with Him. He stated that whatever we do to our fellow human beings, we are, in essence, doing to Him. This powerful message reinforces the foundational principle that we should treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves. In essence, true worship transcends rituals and days; it is rooted in the love and respect we show to one another. Allow me to elaborate on the topic of Sabbath worship. In the Old Testament, there was no form of worship that was deemed acceptable to God based solely on the observance of a particular day. In fact, if you examine the historical context, it's evident that the people often resisted the idea of true worship. They preferred to offer sacrifices rather than cultivate a genuinely grateful heart. This tendency raises an important question: why did this occur? The answer lies in their inclination to reduce their faith to mere rituals centered around specific days and outward appearances. At the same time, they were complicit in creating a society marked by corruption, bribes, and exploitative practices.

What exactly is this principle of OT, or the “ot principle”? It refers to a unique group of individuals who are called to concentrate on the underlying reasons for God’s act of redeeming humanity for Himself within this world. It is essential to understand that no one can genuinely claim that their purpose is more significant than these fundamental principles of salvation. This is precisely why there exists a clear distinction between these principles of grace and the systems devised by mankind. Salvation is rooted in these grace principles, which ultimately determine the various paths that individuals take in life. There is no such thing as misunderstanding or misapplying these grace principles while simultaneously asserting that one is on the right path in life. There is no possibility of blending self-confidence with grace and still believing you are on the correct path. When you reach the most significant moments of your life and reflect back, you may find yourself grieving the fact that you practiced mere religion rather than embracing the true gospel of forgiveness that is found solely in God. Can we firmly assert this truth? I pledge to direct my heart toward extolling the Lord and celebrating His grace. As a result, we observe individuals who become ensnared in their own schemes—schemes that may appear successful on the surface but ultimately lead to sorrow and despair. They find themselves trapped because they have chosen to follow an idol, rather than adhering to God’s covenant of grace. It is crucial to understand this: it does not matter what position you hold or how successful you may be in the eyes of the world. It does not matter if you can boast about your accomplishments or the perceived goodness of your character. What truly matters is that you engage in every aspect of your life through the lens of the gospel and its application.

Clearly, I'm addressing members of the Seventh-day Adventist community. There are moments in life when one must step up and take on the role of a leader, even if it feels daunting. It’s a responsibility that can be challenging, but it is also an opportunity for growth and development. Regardless of the obstacles that may arise, I find comfort and hope in the belief that there is something wonderful awaiting us on the other side. This anticipation of a brighter future motivates me to embrace leadership and navigate through life's complexities with faith and perseverance.
