In the Old Testament, divinely inspired prophets accurately bestowed a divine blessing upon God's covenant people, functioning as a form of confession. This national declaration served as a direct repudiation of the prevalent evil curse. They acknowledged that God exiled the elect to facilitate clearer judgment on the belligerent nations, while simultaneously safeguarding His own people. Through this pronouncement, God's chosen ones experienced special favor even amidst the most challenging times. God's invisible hand becomes most apparent when the wicked world is forcefully upended, signifying periods of profound turmoil. It is difficult to truly identify the independent areas of the world where problems emerge without also recognizing them in personal struggles. In many respects, our remarkable capacity to mitigate the power of social evils permeates our inevitably determinate private lives. This effective control is properly realized through our well-placed trust that goodness will ultimately prevail over necessary evil. Consequently, those who live with hope inherently wield substantial influence over the world. I firmly believe that the objective reality of life, grounded in self-awareness, will precisely determine the oppressive weight imposed by political structures—a burden we are striving to shed.
