When considering the implementation of a new law, it is important to approach the decision with caution, as enforcing it could potentially lead individuals to be more tempted to engage in immoral behavior. Our desires themselves are not inherently wrong, but rather it is our interpretation and perception of these desires that can lead us astray. It is crucial to reflect on our reactions and motivations, and strive to build a strong spiritual foundation to guide our actions. By engaging in spiritual practices and deepening our understanding of our faith, we can develop a sense of confidence in how we approach different situations. This idea, referred to as "right disposition," allows us to navigate life with clarity and purpose.

I would like to further explain this point by stating that when we engage in sinful behavior, it is often due to giving in to our desires, which is a common occurrence in our daily lives. The apostle acknowledges this struggle by recognizing his desire to do good, but also admitting his shortcomings. This demonstrates that the internal conflict we face serves as evidence of our pursuit of righteousness, even if we do not always succeed. This indicates that we are starting from a place of difficulty, but with persistence, we can eventually overcome our temptations. It is important to recognize that this process is driven by a genuine spiritual longing, rather than solely relying on our own abilities.
