In Psalm 29, the author "calls upon the powerful beings to attribute glory and strength to the LORD. They are urged to recognize and honor the LORD's name, worshipping Him in the magnificence of His holiness."

The Psalmist posits that holiness extends beyond God's moral goodness to encompass His role in creating, organizing, and maintaining all aspects of existence. God's holiness is demonstrated through His comprehensive and integrated actions within the natural world. Rather than merely controlling the weather, God's interventions serve to reveal His sovereignty over all elements of creation. This understanding has been personally reflected upon amidst the trials of enduring five hurricanes and three ice storms.

Approximately a year prior to the arrival of Hurricane Andrew in Miami, I committed a Psalm to memory. During the preceding year, I grappled with numerous inquiries. Typically, the Psalms are crafted to elucidate God's sovereignty through the figure of a monarch. However, one day while meditating on the Psalms, Hurricane Andrew unexpectedly veered towards south Dade County, deviating from its anticipated westward trajectory. I found myself seeking refuge in a two-story dwelling located north of my usual residence. As Andrew ravaged the area, I realized that this storm served as a poignant backdrop for my contemplation of the Psalm, ultimately laying the groundwork for a financial blessing that enabled my family to embark on a new chapter of ministry. In retrospect, Hurricane Andrew can be likened to my inaugural guardian angel.

The Psalmist conveys the message that God intervenes in the world to protect and uplift even the most humble families. The acknowledgment of God's power evokes feelings of reverence and awe. The speaker attributes the success of their ministry to divine intervention and sees the challenges they faced, including multiple hurricanes, as opportunities for personal growth and blessings from God.
