Verse 9 further elaborates on a supplication for divine intervention from the LORD, seeking salvation and blessings for his people. The plea invokes imagery of the LORD as a shepherd, responsible for overseeing and directing his flock. The petition emphasizes the desired perpetual presence of the LORD, demonstrating his boundless love and concern for his people. The entreaty underscores the need for continual guidance, safeguarding, and sustenance from the LORD, highlighting his pivotal role as the supreme guardian and sustainer of his people.

The Psalmist asserts that the same immense strength utilized by God in the act of creation is now bestowed upon His chosen people. This strength is visibly demonstrated in the process of salvation, where God's creative power actively operates within our lives. Just as a shepherd tends to his flock, God leads and upholds us in accordance with His divine principles to ensure our steadfastness. It is imperative to understand that God employs both positive and negative circumstances to mold and safeguard us from the repercussions of sin. This transcends mere adherence to moral codes; it encompasses God's authority over the realms of good and evil in order to counteract the detrimental effects of sin. Sin and righteousness are portrayed as incompatible elements, with God's principles serving as a safeguard to shield us from the corrupting influence of sin.

It is important to acknowledge that we are engaged in an ongoing battle with an adversary that never rests. We cannot overcome this adversary on our own, but God has bestowed upon us the curse as a means of safeguarding us. This curse serves to prevent the malevolent from causing harm to God's chosen people and ensures our safety. In response to humanity's transgressions, God has bestowed upon us the pox, which causes any malicious intentions to backfire and result in curses upon oneself. The curse of the law has thus become a blessing to us, enabling us to both thwart and avert destruction in our lives. Let us offer praise to the Lord for heeding our pleas for mercy and for being our source of strength and protection. We place our trust in Him, and He aids us in our times of need. We celebrate His benevolence and express gratitude to Him through song for His protection and provision. It is crucial to recognize that malevolence constantly seeks to harm us, but we have the shield of God's curse to fend it off. The Psalmist highlights the fact that we rely on God for deliverance, as we lack the strength to confront the perils of malevolence on our own. The curse of the law serves as a firm foundation for us to lean on when we are most vulnerable. Without this curse, we would be ill-equipped to confront the threats that come our way. Sin has brought ruin into our lives, which must be contained and addressed. This is why the Psalmist implores for retribution against those who aim to inflict harm upon us. God acts not as a judge to punish us for our sins, but rather as a shield to safeguard us from the perils that seek to harm us. Through the curse of the law, God furnishes us with a stable footing to confront adversity.
