The most obvious things often become lost amidst a multitude of insignificant distractions. If we were to focus on all the attachments in this world that bring us pleasure and security amongst our peers, the burden would be too great to bear. Gospel living, however, does not involve obsessing over every detail; rather, it entails remembering a few simple truths. We yearn to experience fulfillment and, as a result, we grow and evolve. Our forgiveness is unwavering and steadfast. Our sins have been completely removed, as if they were separated from us by an infinite distance spanning from the east to the west. Each day, the sun rises in the east and completes its orbit around us, reminding us of the glorious fact that God is faithful and His love is eternal. It permeates the entire universe. He remains consistent day after day. His provision is not only spiritual, but also physical. This is why we sense the undeniable truth in the light that illuminates our lives. Just like the rising sun and its warming rays, it blinds us. Similarly, in the spiritual realm, God's word is spoken and rises within us when we are exposed to the radiance of His presence. It never fails to have an impact. It transforms us because we are designed to be changed and to experience a progression from one level of glory to another. Sometimes, we only focus on the aspect of light, but it goes beyond mere illumination; it brings pleasure. This is how we come to truly know Him. When we are exposed to His light, we are also exposed to the pleasure that comes from God, and we are compelled to rejoice in His word. Thus, in our joyful longing, we find even greater delight in meditating on His word. As we are transformed in this manner, we discover the source of our security and faithfulness. We realize that this universe is not going anywhere because God sustains it, and we are safe in His hands. In our pleasure, we find the assurance that we cannot be shaken.
