Christ taught complex doctrines not with the intention of enabling individuals to strive for acceptance, but rather to showcase the futility of attaining salvation through our own efforts. We needed to embrace repentance as a gift bestowed upon us. To desire for someone to be motivated by guilt is akin to desiring the full force of the law to impact that person.
